Both DSC & ATURA enjoyed creating dresses for the 4th Annual Hammers & Heels for Habitat fashion show with designs made from construction materials. Taking place May 2nd at Music Man Square in Mason City, the fundraiser included the fashion show, silent and live auctions, and food and drinks.
DSC’s creation was titled “Night Sky” and designed by Val Steffen and Jesse Carolus. It was modeled at the event by Regan Steffen.
The dress was made out of a drop cloth and adorned with lock washers, rubberized washers, washers, chain, decorator chain, photo hanging wire, wire, screen, and cable.
ATURA’s dress “Ice Queen” was designed by Sonya Pareja, Suzi Amundson, Eric Nobbs, and Jarrod Jaspersen and modeled by Eric’s daughter Kyra.
Building materials include snow net, landscape fabric, silicone, 3-D printer filament, plotter paper, nuts, washers, window screen, wood wool, jute twine, and exterior paint.
