Dean Snyder Construction was selected by the Kraft Heinz Company for a $100 million design-build project at their Kraft Foods facility in New Ulm, Minnesota. The project includes assisting in the production of 1 lb., 2 lb., and 8 oz. Velveeta bricks.
Crews broke ground on February 1, 2016, and remodeled 40,000 SF of the existing facility, including removing everything down to the concrete floors to allow for new underground plumbing. Along with the remodel, DSC added approximately 20,000 SF to the building for a new liquid and powder processing room addition.
DSC also supported the equipment installation and start-up to bring Velveeta production back to the New Ulm facility. It was previously produced there but was moved to another facility in 2012.
