DSC crews just started on a new three-month project at Cam-brex in Charles City. Starting this month, crews are replacing the 2nd floor of the Chem 1 building.
Originally built in 1951, the beams and slab are corroding and need to be replaced. Crews will be cutting and lifting out portions of slab to expose the beams and remove/repair beams as needed. They will then shore up existing secondary beams in order to replace the main beams.
The HiPo Pilot Plant Expansion project, started last fall, is still progressing with vessels being set. That project should wrap up in February 2019.
