Dean Snyder Construction is looking for an Employee Development Manager to join our team. The Employee Development Manager (EDM) is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization’s employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance, and recognize performance. The EDM is responsible for maintaining and developing the corporate culture and building employee relations relating to training, development, and improved productivity of all DSC employees.

This position is open to work out of any of our three office locations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create and administrate the employee development program.
  • Build positive employee relationships / coach employees on development opportunities.
  • Review existing training programs and suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of clientele, the organization, or the industry.
  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
  • Develop training and development programs and objectives.
  • Under the guidance of the Directors of Field Operations, will coordinate on-site training opportunities with Superintendents to give employees a chance to work on skills or tasks that interest them
  • Work with HR Director to develop professional programs.
  • Organize training sessions at the shop involving general construction tasks.
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of DSC.
  • Organize vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs.
  • Preferred experience with learning management system (ADP) or ability to adapt and fully manage LMS for training program.

Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge of:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
  • Thorough understanding of training processes.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to instill confidence by equipping employees with the tools to be successful.
  • Inspire others to be their very best.
  • Travel can range from 25% up to 50% with overnight stays, travel based on the needs of the program.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Communications, or a related field.

AND

  • Five years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs preferred.

OR

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties such as those listed above.
