DSC crews are wrapping up on a project at NMC in Omaha, NE, where they have constructed a 900 square-foot facility to accommodate and operate a dynamometer machine. This specialized dyno machine is designed for stress testing and breaking in semi-truck and equipment engines, operating continuously and water-cooled to handle prolonged high RPMs for up to four hours.
In addition to installing the dyno machine itself, including exhaust silencers, the project involved the installation of a 2,000 gallon cooling tower, a 2,500 gallon underground cast-in-place concrete reservoir, a generator with another exhaust silencer, a 2,000 gallon diesel fuel tank, and all necessary supporting equipment, piping, and electrical hookups. The building features a concrete foundation block with brick walls, a steel structural roof topped with EPDM roofing, four large louver and damper combinations for ventilation, and a large overhead garage.
