DSC & ATURA architecture have started on a new design-build project in Mason City at Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company. The expansion involves several significant enhancements to the current facility.
The project includes adding on 6,250 SF to an existing loading dock area, creating the addition of seven loading docks. Approximately 25,000 SF will be added for semi-truck parking, along with a 10,000 SF loading dock ramp equipped with drains. The project also includes the installation of a new retainage pond and the revitalization of an existing one to better manage water and runoff. To improve traffic flow, a new entrance will be incorporated into the plant layout. Three new 14’ x 14’ garage doors will be added, and an existing 12’ x 12’ garage door will be replaced with a new 14’ x 14’ door to expand indoor parking capacity.
The office space will also undergo a remodel, incorporating a new 30’ x 30’ conference room, updated flooring throughout, and the transformation of an existing conference room and adjacent hallway into a new break room. Energy efficiency will be prioritized with the replacement of the uninsulated store front with a new insulated one. Additionally, the entire warehouse will be upgraded with new LED lighting. The exterior of the existing building will be painted to match the aesthetics of the new addition, and the interior space will undergo a comprehensive painting overhaul.
